Marble Polishing in Central Singapore

Marble loses its shine slowly: grit scratches it, acidic spills etch it and the wrong cleaners leave it cloudy. Marble polishing takes off a very thin worn layer with diamond pads, then brings the stone back to a clear, even shine. We do it on floors, bathroom vanity tops, walls and stairs across central Singapore.

Marble Polishing: what you should know

How marble polishing works

Marble is mostly calcite, a soft stone that scratches and reacts with acid. We use a heavy floor machine with resin diamond pads, working from a coarse grit down to very fine grits with water. Each step removes the scratches left by the one before. The final step uses a marble polishing powder or fine diamond that brings out a natural shine from the stone itself, not a coating that sits on top.

Polishing vs a coating

Some companies only apply a wax or acrylic coating. It looks shiny for a few weeks, then wears in walkways and traps dirt. We polish the stone itself, so the shine lasts and can be topped up with a simple buff.

Which marble we polish

Emperador, Crema Marfil, Carrara, Volakas, Botticino, Bianco and grey marbles, crazy-paving marble chips in older homes, and marble tiles of all sizes. Not sure if your floor is marble? Send a photo and we will tell you.

  • Tell us if you need help moving large furniture.
  • Point out any cracks, hollow tiles, stains or etch marks you want us to focus on.
  • Check your condo's renovation rules: notice, lift booking and working hours.
  • Keep pets and children away from the work area while machines are running.

Aftercare

Sweep or dust-mop daily so grit doesn't scratch the new surface. Mop with a pH-neutral stone cleaner, never vinegar, lemon or bleach. Wipe acidic spills straight away. A light buff every 1 to 2 years keeps the shine.

Frequently asked questions

How much does marble polishing cost in Singapore?

Our marble polishing starts from $1 per sq ft with a minimum of $350. A 1,000 sq ft condo unit starts from $1,000. Heavy grinding, deep stains and repairs are quoted from photos.

Is marble polishing messy?

It's a wet process, so there's no dust, but there is slurry. We cover walls, cabinets and doorways with plastic sheeting and tape, and clean up before we leave.

Can I stay at home during polishing?

Yes. We work room by room, so you can use the rest of the home. You can walk on a polished floor once it is dry, usually within an hour or two.

How long does the shine last?

With daily sweeping and a neutral cleaner, the shine usually lasts several years. High-traffic areas may need a light buff every 1 to 2 years.

Do you polish marble in HDB flats?

Yes. Older HDB flats often have marble or crazy-paving marble chip floors, and they polish up very well.
